Research directions: development of new varieties of spring and winter barley resistant to biotic and abiotic environmental factors for brewing, food and feed with application of innovative informational and molecular and genetic methods; original seed production and production of super elite seeds and commercial seeds of P-2 reproduction. |

Oats Laboratory
Research directions: study and creation of new initial material; search for genetic sources for breeding of competitive varieties of oats; creation of high yield varieties of oats for food and feed adapted to soil and climate conditions of the republic; development of cost effective and environmentally friendly elements of oats cultivation technology enabling to implement genetic capacity of new varieties; organization of production of original and elite seeds of oats varieties included in the National List. |

Research directions: creation of high yield varieties of diploid and tetraploid buckwheat and millet resistant to unfavourable environmental factors, unconventional millet crops; development of the agricultural technology for cereal crops cultivation; primary seed production; sale of original seeds and providing scientific support to the cultivation of new varieties of cereal crops. |

Soil Cultivation and Precision Agriculture Laboratory
Research directions: development and improvement of the legislation in the field of seed production; organization of seed production in the Center and sale of seeds to agricultural organization of the republic; coordination of work on seed production with Vitebsk Regional Institute of Agriculture, Grodno Regional Institute of Plant Breeding and regional agricultural experimental stations; development of moister, energy and resource saving systems of soil cultivation and complicated methods of weeds control; enhancement of techniques of integrated plant protection and reduction of herbicide load on the environment due to rational combinations of agrotechnical, phytocoenotic and chemical methods of weed destruction; conducting an agro-technical and agro-economic assessment of tillage machines under production conditions. |

Research directions: development of resource saving adaptive systems of land use on the basis of improving rational soil and environmental crop rotations and optimising the structure of arable lands; evaluation of soils on their suitability for crop cultivation; development of agro-zoo-economic business plans in line with specialisation and soil and environmental conditions of a region. |

Plant Growth Regulation and Development Laboratory
Research directions: study of the dynamics of phytohormones and nature of their interrelation in plants; study of the efficiency of growth regulators and physiologically active substances, macro and micro fertilizers for presowing treatment of seeds and vegetating plants; testing of means of protection for field crops; making recommendations to care for spiked cereals under current weather conditions; revision of an operating manual on cultivation of cereals for grain and seeds. |
